There is a holy discontent roaring inside many in the Body of Christ. The discontent stems from dissatisfaction with the BAU (business as usual) in the Church. Many are experiencing an internal wrestling, questioning, tugging that signifies the longing for something more. That something more is Jesus.
This holy discontent is mainly among those who have – very personally, very deeply, very desperately – encountered the person of Jesus. They are like Paul and had their own Damascus Road moment. They experienced and greatly benefitted from His supernatural signs, wonders, miracles, deliverance, healing. They sit at His feet first. Radical encounters resulting in radical change. Radical change resulting in radical obedience. Radical obedience resulting in radical fire. Not the strange fire of religion; the pure, holy fire born only of relationship, surrender and devotion.
This fire is the reason for their holy dis-ease, grief, and discontent with the BAU. They long for the more of Jesus, which He promised and they already experienced. They know everything apart from Him and His Holy Spirit is settling for less. They know there is more; they are first-hand witnesses to it. They long for holy disruptions to the BAU they see week after week.
This holy discontent will do two things. First, it will cause them to more openly challenge and question the BAU. This in itself is a holy disruption. They will question the status quo. They will challenge the Church on religion and religiosity in all its forms. They will begin to seek Him in new ways. They will birth new ideas, new movements, new churches. It will be unconventional. They will look and be called foolish, yet they will confound the wise.
Their hearts and motivations will be questioned, but make no mistake this is out of their love for and surrender to Jesus. It will be threatening to all that is familiar and comfortable today, much like Jesus’ earthly ministry was to the Pharisees and Sadducees. In love, He challenged the BAU of His day. In love, He rebuked the fiefdoms of man to usher in the Kingdom built by our Father. Therefore, the Lord will use this holy discontent to awaken His Bride.
This awakening will birth a new level of identity, surrender, deliverance, and action to ensure the biggest breakthroughs and miracles we have ever seen. GLORY! Initially, this will happen beyond the four walls of the Church. Holy disruptions will happen in unexpected and unconventional places. The Lord will use those who seek Him first and are fully surrendered and open to His ways and His will in any given moment.
The Church will be a fast follower, though, allowing for more and more holy disruptions that will usher in the Kingdom in all its glory!
Get ready for holy disruptions!
