The Father Sends His Love

Here is my confession: I have developed a love (obsession?) for indoor plants. It started with the Christmas cactus I received at Christmas from my sister-in-law, and it has only grown since. I now have four indoor plants. Let’s call it a generational blessing. My mom was an indoor plant lady.

I remember living in Chicago as a kid, and our house had a bay of four windows in the front room (what we Chicagoan’s call a living room) that faced south. My mom filled that space with all kinds of plants. I can still picture it to this day – all kinds of plants and the macrame hangers, too!

Yesterday, my husband and I were out and about running errands and making plans for our backyard oasis. We visited a local nursery, so of course I had to check out the indoor plants. Of course!

I looked and looked at each plant, but nothing was standing out to me. While I might be obsessed, I am still picky! I don’t want just anything. I want something that speaks to me.

And then … there it was … HEARTS:

And then … my Father spoke to me:

“Even My creation professes My love for you, Kamy.”

Needless to say, (1) I about lost it right then and there, and (2) I knew that was the plant to buy because I sensed He wanted me to have it as a visible reminder of His love for me.

I felt led to share this to remind you of the Father’s great love for you, too. There are no limits to His love or conditions on His love, and He will stop at nothing to show you His love.

He gave Jesus to us as the ultimate expression of His love for us, and yes, He will even interrupt something as mundane as indoor plant shopping to remind you of His love for you. He is the best Father there is!

Maybe love is hard for you sometimes. I understand that. Allow me to encourage you there, too.

Someone once told me, “Let Him love you.” That was a pivotal statement that tore down walls I didn’t even know I had up. I encourage you to let Him love you. Let Him in. His love is kind and sweet and beautiful, and it chnages everything!

Today, the Father wants you to know that you are loved, and you are His beloved!
